Perseverance Rover’s Descent and Touchdown on Mars (Official NASA Video)

تم نشره في 2021/02/22
NASA's Mars 2020 Perseverance mission captured thrilling footage of its rover landing in Mars' Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021. The real footage in this video was captured by several cameras that are part of the rover's entry, descent, and landing suite. The views include a camera looking down from the spacecraft's descent stage (a kind of rocket-powered jet pack that helps fly the rover to its landing site), a camera on the rover looking up at the descent stage, a camera on the top of the aeroshell (a capsule protecting the rover) looking up at that parachute, and a camera on the bottom of the rover looking down at the Martian surface.

The audio embedded in the video comes from the mission control call-outs during entry, descent, and landing.

  • Waited so long.. For this

  • With the signal time delay, those in the control centre are simply watching a re-run. Like us.

  • Cool story bro.

  • Uh yeah, they never show you the equipment traveling to mars. How about choosing a different landing spot in Canada.

  • So there is a new blogger here name is ROVER...

  • For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

  • We have billions of money funding wars, mars exploration meanwhile UNICEF still begging for danations to feed the hungry humans on earth.

  • Why is there no firing on the boosters?

    • @Mike P It does on earth, but on mars the pressure is lower.

    • Because the fuel (hydrazine) doesn't produce a visible flame.

  • Can't wait to see the drone footage

  • If Einstein see this she gonna have a big smile on her face

  • can't wait fifa world cup in mars 2054

  • Ummm, how is the camera sending real time footage back to EARTH? And why didn't the perseverance camera capture footage of the journey to Mars? ( It would be especially great to see footage of Earth) And how did perseverance go beyond the radiation belts?

    • Those who talk most about "radiation belts" are usually those who know the least about it. By, the way, don't you know the Earth is flat?

    • Perseverance was encapsulated within the back shell and heat shield during the journey to Mars. There was no way for it to take images or video. The cruise stage was not equipped with cameras. We’ve known how to mitigate the hazard of the Van Allen belts for more than 60 years. A combination of shielding and a trajectory that minimizes exposure is all that is required. The idea that the Van Allen belts are some sort of impenetrable barrier is a persistent misconception. As other commenters have mentioned, the videos were not received in real time. The rover recorded the various EDL videos and then downloaded them to Earth a day or two after the landing.

    • There are no extreme problems with passing the radiation belts. This thing has explained a long time ago.

    • It is not real time video. It was sent on Earth days after the landing. NASA merged the 2 videos to match with the telemetry data they were receiving.

  • This is so cool! We just saw history be made! Shame some people are making this about politics in the comments. I’m so pumped!

  • Todo eso es muy tenebroso , mal augurio!!!!..🤔😲👎

  • This will be a moment to remember

  • Hello NASA I'm from Cambodia 🇰🇭❤️🇺🇲

  • exellent

  • Awesome moment! So very proud of all of you! 🙏

  • Foi emocionante!!!

  • This is one of the most incredible if not the most incredible footage I've ever witnessed. Truly breathtaking. The whole video seemed like it was shot at a movie studio for a big budget Hollywood blockbuster, but IT'S ALL REAL!!! Incredible!!!

  • WOW That was great !!!

  • Love you America!! What an achievement!!!

  • Can't wait for the AR-one algorithm to recommend this to the future people that live on mars.

  • It feels so surreal when u think there are planets, solar system, galaxy, galaxies, who are we , how is it all being , is it really real, we went out in the space to another planet. It’s just so weird when you give it a thought for a minute or so

  • I AM TURKHİS A LOVE NASA BEN TÜRKÜM SİZİ SEVİYORUM NASA

  • The human being should be studied, how do you believe this?

    • It's not a question of believing, it is understanding the technology. Is this too difficult to understand?

    • Ok

  • brilliant, I watched it live but now with the video from the rover on its descent it had me whooping with joy all over again.

  • How inspiring this video is!

  • NASA MY DREAM

  • So, when are we going there???

    • There are many problems with getting people there. They would be In danger from space radiation and being in space for long isn't good for human body either

  • Kabeh teguna anjing ka cape cape dasar kafir ngalawan kodrat Allah

  • Amazing! I am crying!

  • Grat god job 👏🤝🙏

  • Noice

  • I find it funny that it could've touched down successfully or crashed but we wouldn't know it back home until the signals were relayed. Everyone cheered a long time after it already landed lol!

  • Minute 3.08, the most beautiful moment, I see it again and again.

  • Amazon would have got it there next day with prime delivery.

  • You realise that that is not the first time they landed on mars.... Old news... but marvelous nonetheless

    • This is the first time they’ve had this amount of quality footage on descent though. Curiosity only sent a few frames per second of video from one camera

  • Bravo Perseverance!!!

  • Cool

  • ❤️😁

  • Nice

  • too young to explore the earth and too old to explore the starts, perfect age to make fun of flat earthers!

  • Awesome!

  • 7 minuts of terror

  • I do hope Perseverance will somehow find both Spirit and Opportunity :/

    • It's too far away from both rovers. Even if it did find them it would take years for it to reach them because it moves very slowly

  • I really Appreciate you Nasa.. Yep... It's a Great Achievement 😍...Hats off to all behind this. Now I'm thinking of our Future, when the Concept of TOUR TO MARS become familiar 😜
